Gross Negligence Towards Passenger Safety by Airlines and Authorities \u2013 Abhijit Bhosale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pune: A shocking incident occurred during the Goa\u2013Pune SpiceJet flight (SG1080). Pune-based businessman Abhijit Bhosale found sharp metal fragments inside a Diet Coke can served to him by the crew. The fragments injured his throat, leading to his immediate hospitalization. However, Bhosale expressed deep regret during a press conference that neither SpiceJet, Coca-Cola, nor the concerned authorities have taken the matter seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the press meet, Bhosale said, \u201cWhile traveling, I consumed a soft drink. After a few sips, I suddenly experienced severe pain in my throat and difficulty breathing. My co-passengers, Mahesh Gupta and Rajkumar Agarwal, came to my aid. Upon landing in Pune, the airline immediately called for an ambulance, and I was rushed to Ruby Hall Clinic. Doctors examined me, provided treatment, and advised me to return for further check-ups after two days.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhosale further stated, \u201cSharp metallic pieces were clearly visible inside the Diet Coke can. We tried shaking the can to remove them. Only one small piece came out, while the larger fragments remained stuck due to their size. The crew member forcibly seized the can and claimed to have thrown it in the trash. My co-passenger Mahesh Gupta insisted that the contaminated can and fragments be preserved as evidence for investigation. However, SpiceJet instead attempted to destroy this crucial proof.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhosale lodged repeated complaints with SpiceJet, Coca-Cola India, DGCA, FSSAI, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, but no concrete or transparent action has been taken so far.
He said, \u201cThis incident is not limited to me; it poses a serious threat to every passenger. Authorities must urgently conduct an impartial investigation and take strict action. This is not only a grave lapse in passenger safety but also a clear violation of food safety laws. Instead of preserving the contaminated can, SpiceJet crew forcibly removed it, raising suspicions that the evidence was destroyed\u2014thus hindering a transparent probe. The contaminated can\u2019s photos, metallic fragments, production site details, batch number, and manufacturing-expiry information must be made public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abhijit Bhosale has demanded that: A free and impartial investigation be conducted.Strict legal action be taken against responsible officials of SpiceJet and Coca-Cola.An immediate recall of the entire contaminated batch of cans be carried out.Necessary safety measures and corrective actions be implemented urgently to protect passengers and the general public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
