Pune: The birthday of Aniruddha Deshpande, Managing Director of Pune City Corporation Limited Amanora, President of Amanora YES Foundation, and President of the Pune District and Metropolitan Badminton Association, was celebrated through various social initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


On the occasion, a blood donation camp was organized on Sunday, April 5, at the badminton complex of the association in Shivajinagar. The camp received an excellent response. A total of 325 units of blood have been collected through various camps conducted so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Association office bearers including General Secretary Ranjit Natu, Vice Presidents Avinash Jadhav and Sushil Jadhav, Competition Secretary Rajiv Bag, Treasurer Sarang Lagu, Advisors Atul Biniwale, Girish Natu, Abhay Sonawane, and Chief Social Officer of City Group Vivek Kulkarni were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year marks the second consecutive year of organizing a blood donation camp by the association on Deshpande\u2019s birthday. From March 25 to April 5, Amanora YES Foundation conducted several social initiatives. These included breast cancer screening for around 250 women such as domestic workers and housekeeping staff in Amanora, Hadapsar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Additionally, eye check-ups were conducted for 530 individuals, out of which 260 were provided spectacles, and 30 underwent cataract surgeries. Around 400 people received spirometry tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarships worth \u20b910 lakh under the Meera Deshpande Scholarship Scheme were awarded to 32 students from Maharashtra Education Society\u2019s Nursing College. Also, 18 individuals working in the medical field were honored with the Parshuram Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizations such as BJ Medical College, Sassoon Hospital, Rotary Club of Pune Katraj, MES Parshuram Hospital Charitable Trust (Chiplun), H.V. Desai Eye Hospital, Cipla Breathe Free, Jan Kalyan Blood Center, and Shwas Foundation Kolhapur contributed to these initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Prominent dignitaries including Dr. Eknath Pawar (Dean, BJ Medical College), Dr. Yallappa Jadhav (Medical Superintendent), Dr. Lata Bhoir (Head of Surgery Department), Dr. Rajesh Shah (President, H.V. Desai Eye Hospital), Parvez Bilmoria, Jitesh Kharat, Sanjay Kulkarni, Dr. Sachin Utpat, Dr. Anupam Alman, Milind Kale (Principal, MES Nursing College), and Pramod Ashtekar (Cipla Breathe Free) participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary Ranjit Natu said that Aniruddha Deshpande has successfully led the badminton association for the past 15 years, during which many national and international players have emerged. In recognition of his contribution, the association organizes a blood donation camp every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Chief Social Officer Vivek Kulkarni added that, as every year, multiple initiatives across Maharashtra were conducted in fields such as education and healthcare. These included blood donation drives, breast cancer screenings, eye check-ups, and cataract surgeries. The camps were held at Amanora Mall, Amanora Township, Parshuram Hospital in Chiplun, and Pune Metropolitan Badminton Association, with a target of collecting around 325 units of blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
