Pune: On behalf of Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal, three well-equipped ambulances were dispatched from Pune to provide medical support during the Palkhi processions of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj, and Sant Sopankaka. This initiative is a part of the “Jai Ganesh Rugnaseva Abhiyan”, under which doctors, medicines, and healthcare services will be provided free of cost throughout the Palkhi journey.

The ambulances were worshipped in front of the Ganpati temple before being flagged off. Present at the inauguration were Trust President Sunil Rasne, Vice President and program coordinator Dr. Ramchandra alias Balasaheb Paranjape, Treasurer Mahesh Suryawanshi, MLA and General Secretary Hemant Rasne, and Dnyaneshwar Rasne, along with other office bearers. This is the 36th year of the initiative.

Dr. Ramchandra alias Balasaheb Paranjape stated that one ambulance will accompany the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi via Saswad route, another with Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi via Loni route, and the third with the Sant Sopankaka Palkhi. The initiative aims to ensure timely medical care for Warkaris walking long distances during the pilgrimage.

The Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust, in collaboration with partner medical institutions, also operates a mobile clinic at every stop along the Palkhi route. These clinics provide check-ups and treatment for skin diseases, ENT issues, eye tests, blood pressure, and sugar tests. All medical services and medications are offered completely free of cost, and thousands of Warkaris benefit from this healthcare service each year.
