Along with entertainment, they capture real-life issues, social reflections, and public sentiments. ‘Reel Star’ portrays the story of Bhanudas, a street vendor, and his family. The film showcases the extraordinary journey of Bhanudas in fulfilling his dreams. The challenges he faces and the determination he displays make the film an inspiring experience for many.This is the first Marathi film created with the involvement of top technicians from the Malayalam film industry—an industry known for producing some of India’s finest cinema. The film is produced by Jose Abraham, Monica, and Nishil Kambati under the banners of J-Fives Entertainments, Phoenix Group, and Initiative Films. The film is directed by Simmy and Robin, who had earlier directed the multi-starrer Hindi-Marathi film ‘Anya.’ Simmy and Krishna Enterprises are co-producers. The story is written by Sudhir Kulkarni, who has previously assisted renowned filmmaker Nagraj Manjule.The film features five songs that accompany different moods and scenes. ‘Drishyam’ fame composer Vinu Thomas has composed four songs, while one song is composed by Shubham Bhatt, who has worked as an assistant to legendary music composer A.R. Rahman.The cast includes Bhushan Manjule, Urmila J. Jagtap, Prasad Oak, Milind Shinde, Kailas Waghmare, Ruchira Jadhav, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Shubhangi Latkar, Vijay Patkar, Anant Mahadevan, Dnyanesh Wadekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Shivaji Patne, Ganesh Rewadekar, Abhinay Patekar, Vishal Arjun, Rajesh Malvankar, Jagdish Hadap, Poonam Rane, Abhay Shinde, Anil Kavathekar, Vinita Shinde, Prashant Shinde, and Karishma Desale. Child actors Arjun Gaykar and Tanushka Mhadse also play important roles.Mahendra Patil is the creative producer, and Nandu Acharekar is the chief associate director. Deepak Pandey is the casting director, while Rohit Kulkarni is the associate director. The film’s makeup is done by Bhagwat Sonawane, and costumes are designed by Rani Wankhade. Production design is by Rahul Sharma and Sameer Chitnis, and Nilesh Rasal has handled art direction. The songs are presented under the Saregama label, and Cinepolis will handle the film’s distribution.
