Spread the love Governor Acharya Devvrat and Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav to attend valedictory event Pune: To promote the philosophy and scientific approach of naturopathy, the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) will organise a three-day Natural Food Fair from November 16 to 18 at the Nisarg Gram campus in Yeolewadi. The event is part of the observance of the 8th Naturopathy Day, NIN’s acting director Amarendra Singh announced at a press conference. Present on the occasion were Dr Satyenath, Omprakash Shukla, Mandar Deshpande, and Saurabh Sakalye. Singh stated that the festival will remain open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm daily. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underscored the national priority of obesity prevention through a balanced diet and physical activity, including reducing intake of edible oils. This year’s theme is centred on “Losing Weight Naturally through Naturopathy.” The event will highlight oil-free, plant-based dietary practices through demonstrations, educational exhibits, and stalls offering healthy food options. As part of the festival, an intercollegiate meet for students of naturopathy and yoga sciences has been planned. Competitions will include a medical quiz, elocution and essay contests, research paper presentations, physiotherapy demonstrations, reel competitions, fire-free cooking, fruit-and-vegetable carving, and an Idea Hackathon. For teachers, a Faculty Development Programme, along with specialised workshops on osteopathy and chiropractic techniques, has also been scheduled. The valedictory ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 4 pm, with Governor Acharya Devvrat and Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav attending as chief guests. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and Chief Postmaster General Amitabh Singh will also be present. The concluding event will feature the release of a special postal stamp dedicated to the National Institute of Naturopathy, the unveiling of publications and the announcement of competition winners. Awards will also be presented to Dr Dinshaw K. Mehta (Outstanding Expert) and Dr S. N. Moorthy (Outstanding PG Student), Singh added.
