Spread the love Pune : On the second day of the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav organized by Vedashri Tapovan, Kanchi Kamakoti Jagadguru Shankaracharya Anantashree Vijayendra Saraswati Maharaj and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were present as chief guests. Pune’s renowned entrepreneur and trustee of the Maharshi Vedavyas Foundation, Mr. Abhay Bhutada, is hosting the event.At the beginning of the programme, host Mr. Abhay Bhutada, trustee of the Maharshi Vedavyas Foundation, felicitated Speaker Om Birla with a traditional Peshwai turban and an idol of Lord Ganesha. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla conferred the Maharshi Ved Vyas Award upon Gulabchand Kothari, Editor-in-Chief of Rajasthan Patrika. Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Ayodhya, was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Om Birla said,“I consider myself fortunate to have spent a few moments in the presence of Shankaracharya and Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj. Through their foundation, Swami Govind Giri Maharaj has been promoting Sanatan Dharma and Vedic culture, running various schools across the country. This Mahotsav itself is a symbol of that noble work. Through Vedas and knowledge, society can be improved and meaningful change can be brought about. Awardee Gulab Kothari’s contribution to the spread of Vedic studies is extraordinary. Along with journalism, he has written extensively on our culture and Vedic traditions. His work will inspire the younger generation and contribute to building a strong India. I also congratulate Vedashri Foundation for selecting such a deserving recipient.” Kanchi Kamakoti Jagadguru Shankaracharya Anantashree Vijayendra Saraswati Maharaj said,“Along with economic development, religious activities and the propagation of Sanatan Dharma are equally essential. This work is being carried out through the Vedashri Foundation, and the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav is an excellent initiative in that direction. Through his work, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is upholding the sanctity of the sacred temple of democracy.”Later in the evening programme, the second day concluded with a kirtan by H.B.P. Dr. Makrandbuwa Ramdasi. The Gita Jayanti Mahotsav is being held at Vedashri Tapovan, Alandi-Moshi, from 29 November to 1 December 2025, with a grand concluding ceremony scheduled tomorrow.
