Pune: The Empress Garden Flower Show 2025 exhibition was inaugurated by Pune Commissioner and Director of Land Records Dr. Suhas Diwas today on the 24th. On this occasion, The Agri-Horticultural Society of Western India President Pratap Pawar, Honorary Secretary of the organization Suresh Pingle, Trustees Anupama Barve, Suman Kiloskar, Dr. Srinath Kavade, Balasaheb Shivarkar, Prashant Chavan etc. were present.

Every year in the month of January, a flower exhibition is organized by the organization at Empress Garden. In the early days, flower exhibitions were considered a pastime of only a certain class. However, due to changes made by the organization over time, the flower exhibition that is held today includes participation of both young and old. To increase the participation of the general public in the flower exhibition, various competitions are organized for garden lovers. Also, competitions in artistic flower arrangement, vegetable competition, making attractive and elegant flower pots, etc. are organized on this occasion. Also, various flowers from the garden can be displayed in this exhibition by common people. No fee is charged for this. Not only limited to the competition, flower lovers who visit the garden for the flower exhibition can also enjoy the newly decorated Empress Garden. Every year on the occasion of the flower exhibition, the garden is decorated in an attractive manner with various types of garden designs, attractive flower pot arrangements, and creative arrangements of various leaves and flowers. That is why flower lovers eagerly wait for this flower festival all year round. On the occasion of the flower exhibition, nursery professionals come not only from Pune but also from places like Kolhapur, Sangli, Nashik, Andhra Pradesh etc. to participate in this flower exhibition. Every year on the occasion of the exhibition, painting and handwriting competitions are also organized for special children. This competition was held this year too. The prize distribution ceremony of this competition will be held on the 27th at 5 pm. Around 1000 to 1200 students from various schools participated in this competition. This year, on the first day of the inauguration, many citizens from Pune and many other places had gathered to see the exhibition.
