Spread the love Dabur Odomos takes the lead in raising awareness about protection against dengue-causing mosquitoes Pune : Odomos, India’s No. 1 personal-use mosquito repellent brand, has launched its nationwide awareness campaign, ‘Dengue-Free India’. The campaign aims to raise awareness among citizens about dengue prevention and highlight the importance of protection against mosquitoes that spread dengue during the daytime. Through school awareness programmes and community engagement initiatives, the campaign seeks to encourage people to make daily mosquito protection a habit. Raising awareness about the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases and encouraging people to adopt preventive measures have been an integral part of Odomos’ ongoing efforts. Through consumer education and community awareness programmes, the brand aims to help families stay protected against mosquitoes that transmit dengue, malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. As part of the campaign, various activities will be conducted in schools across India. Awareness sessions will engage students, teachers and parents, educating them about effective ways to protect themselves against dengue-causing mosquitoes. The campaign was launched at Pune Municipal Corporation’s Boys’ School No. 1 in Lohgaon, Pune. An awareness session was organised at the school under the guidance of Dr. Shruti Salve, with the participation of more than 300 students and teachers. The initiative was led by medical expert Dr. Shruti Bhimrao Salve. Those present at the programme included Dr. Shruti Salve, Dinesh Kumar from Dabur India Limited, the school’s headmistress Mrs. Mukta Pawar, senior teacher Nitin Vani, Maruti Pote, Mrs. Jayshree Gengaje, Dattatray Adhav, Mrs. Manisha Naikwadi, Bhimrao Randhir, Vaibhav Guling, Prashant Waghmare, Mrs. Asha More, Mrs. Vaishali Khandve, Mrs. Neeta Kakade and Megha Rani Malge. However, awareness about the fact that dengue-causing mosquitoes are active during the daytime remains limited. As India’s leading personal-use mosquito repellent brand, Odomos has always prioritised the goal of protecting families from mosquito-borne diseases. “Through the ‘Dengue-Free India’ campaign, we are expanding our commitment beyond product protection to strengthen public awareness. We are encouraging families to adopt preventive measures and make mosquito protection a daily habit, particularly during the monsoon season.” Addressing the awareness session, Dr. Shruti Salve said, “Dengue prevention begins with awareness and consistent protection. The Aedes aegypti mosquito bites during the daytime. Therefore, people face the risk of dengue not only when they are outdoors but also while travelling, going to school or spending time in public places. “Initiatives such as ‘Dengue-Free India’ play an important role in raising awareness within communities and encouraging people to adopt preventive measures.” Amit Garg, General Manager, Marketing, Dabur India Limited, said, “One of the major misconceptions about mosquito protection is that it is necessary only at night. In reality, mosquitoes that spread dengue are active during the daytime. As a result, people are exposed to mosquito bites while travelling to work, going to school, exercising outdoors or participating in social gatherings. “Through the ‘Dengue-Free India’ campaign, we are highlighting the importance of daily mosquito protection. We are also encouraging consumers to make mosquito protection a part of their everyday routine, further advancing our commitment to making India dengue-free in the long term.” Odomos offers mosquito protection through a range of skin-friendly products, including creams, lotions, gels, sprays and fabric roll-ons. These products are designed to make mosquito protection convenient for consumers with diverse needs and across different situations.
