Spread the love Pune – On the occasion of the first anniversary of Samutkarsh Consumer Market, a Grain Festival was organized which received an unprecedented response from the residents of Kothrud. Since the event was held just before Ganeshotsav, thousands of people enjoyed purchasing essential grains required for the festive season. With the vision of Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil, Samutkarsh Consumer Market was launched on 15th August 2024 to provide quality grains to citizens of Kothrud at concessional rates. Along with making quality food grains available at one place at affordable prices, the market has also provided a platform for products made by women self-help groups. Over the past year, more than 11,000 citizens of Kothrud have benefitted from this facility. Marking the first anniversary of the Consumer Market on 16th August this year, a two-day Grain Festival was organized on 19th and 20th August at Harshal Hall, Karve Road, under the initiative of Chandrakant Dada Patil. During the festival, essential items like wheat, rice, jowar, pulses, and lentils were offered at a 15% discount for general customers and a 30% discount for Samutkarsh Consumer Market members—providing a golden opportunity for festive shopping. The festival witnessed an overwhelming response, with around 20,000 citizens purchasing grains and enjoying the shopping experience. On this occasion, Mr. Patil also announced that similar Grain Festivals would be organized for the people of Kothrud in the future.
