Spread the love Historian Jagannath Ladkat’s remarks at the release of ‘Bajirao The Great!’ authored by Vijay Panwalkar on the 325th birth anniversary of the undefeated warrior Bajirao Peshwa Pune: Bajirao Peshwa is remembered in world history as a warrior who never lost a single battle. British historians have described him as the greatest commander of cavalry. British Field Marshal Montgomery, in his book A Concise History of Warfare, mentions the Battle of Palkhed among the world’s ten most significant battles. The Battle of Palkhed has been regarded as a classic lesson in military strategy, and Bajirao’s mastery in the use of cavalry is considered one of the finest examples in world history, said historian Jagannath Ladkat. On the occasion of the 325th birth anniversary of the invincible warrior Bajirao Peshwa, the historical book ‘Bajirao The Great!’ written by Vijay Panwalkar was released at the auditorium of Jnana Prabodhini School in Sadashiv Peth. Author Vijay Panwalkar, Amruta Kulkarni, and Varsha Puranik were present on the dais. On this occasion, Jagannath Ladkat spoke to the audience about the valor of Bajirao and the significance of the Battle of Palkhed. The book has been published by Mihana Publications. Jagannath Ladkat said, “Bajirao did not confront the Nizam directly to defeat him. Instead, he cut off his army’s supply of food and water, laying siege and forcing the Nizam to surrender. This battle is still renowned worldwide as a classic cavalry campaign.” Author Vijay Panwalkar added, “Bajirao Peshwa is a great name in world history, on par with Alexander and Napoleon. Even the British have acknowledged the Battle of Palkhed as one of the finest examples of military strategy. Today’s youth only know Bajirao from textbooks, but his valor goes far beyond that. Many such examples have been documented in this book.” Post Views: 3 Post navigation A Grand Tribute to Omkareshwar with Drum and Tasha Performances by 11 Flag-Bearing Troops Overwhelming Response to Grain Festival Organized by Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil
