“Due to BJP governments at the Centre, State and Municipal levels, Pune city has witnessed extensive development – Minister Chandrakant Patil”

Pune – The BJP was in power in the Pune Municipal Corporation only for five years, from 2017 to 2021. However, since the formation of Maharashtra and the establishment of the Municipal Corporation, the opposition parties have ruled for nearly 60 years. Therefore, it is the opposition that must give an account of those 60 years, said Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil. He also pointed out that during the tenure of BJP governments at the Centre and in the State, Pune city has seen significant development works.

A street-corner meeting addressed by Minister Chandrakant Patil was held today in support of BJP candidates in Ward No. 31 of Kothrud. During the meeting, he interacted with citizens. BJP Central Mandal President Kuldeep Sawalekar, BJP candidates from Ward No. 31 Prithviraj Sutar, Jyotsna Kulkarni, Vasanti Jadhav, Dinesh Mathwad, along with a large number of BJP workers and citizens, were present.

Patil said that the BJP was in power in the Pune Municipal Corporation only for five years, from 2017 to 2021. During this period, several major projects were implemented, including the Metro, equal water supply scheme, strengthening of public transport through the addition of a large number of buses, river rejuvenation projects, and construction of flyovers at major junctions to ease traffic congestion. In Kothrud, bus services have also been arranged to connect residential areas directly to Metro stations.

He further stated that today the opposition criticizes the BJP, claiming that no development took place during its tenure. In reality, since the formation of Maharashtra and the Pune Municipal Corporation, the opposition has ruled the municipal body for nearly 60 years. What was the condition of Pune during their rule, he asked, pointing out that since 2014, the people of Pune have consistently rejected them. He also recalled the embarrassment faced by the opposition when the flyover constructed and approved during their tenure at University Chowk had to be demolished. “Is this what you call planning for the development of Pune city?” Patil questioned sharply.

Appealing to citizens to vote for the BJP and ensure the victory of BJP candidates, Patil said that residents of Paramhans Nagar and Gujarat Colony expressed their firm resolve to elect BJP candidates.
