Initiative by Maha NGO Federation in Pune; major support through CSR

Pune: Through the efforts of the Maha NGO Federation and under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Cardmom Logistics Assets India Private Limited, advanced medical facilities have been provided to the rural hospital in Chakan. Additionally, the dilapidated postmortem room has been completely reconstructed. This initiative is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare services in the region.


The program was attended by several dignitaries including Maharashtra Goseva Commission Chairman Shekhar Mundada, Ajit Patil (Manager, Cardmom Logistics Assets India Pvt. Ltd.), Dushyant Dagawkar, Amol Umbarje (Director, Maha NGO Federation), Mukund Shinde, Yogesh Bajaj, and Medical Superintendent Dr. Sachin Kamble.


Under this initiative, the hospital has been equipped with a modern chemical waste management system, a digital X-ray machine, a dedicated vaccine refrigerator, four geysers, five scanners and printers, four advanced weighing machines, ten digital BP monitors, and ten pulse oximeters. Furthermore, the postmortem room, which was in extremely poor condition, has been fully renovated and upgraded.


Shekhar Mundada guided the audience on how people-centric and impactful projects can be implemented through CSR initiatives. Ajit Patil stated that the company remains committed to social responsibility and will continue to support such initiatives, while also exploring additional healthcare support opportunities.


Amol Umbarje, Director of Maha NGO Federation and the coordinator of the initiative, said that the primary objective of the project is to ensure that quality healthcare services are easily accessible to citizens in rural areas. Shivaji Chavan, Rahul Jagtap, Apoorva Karwa, and Komal Gandhi played key roles in coordinating the program.

The initiative has received positive feedback from tribal, rural communities, and the working class.
