Spread the love Release of the ‘Shahiri Ninad’ Annual Publication and Conclusion of Powada Training Classes Mark the 28th Death Anniversary Commemoration of Late Shahiratna Kisanrao Hinge Pune: True happiness should be sought within oneself rather than outside. Art serves as a powerful medium for expressing that joy, and discipline helps shape an individual’s personality. Since the art of Shahiri (folk ballad singing and storytelling) not only develops character but also instills discipline, it is essential to preserve and promote this rich cultural tradition, said Dr. Dilip Sheth. He was speaking at the release of the annual publication “Shahiri Ninad” and the valedictory ceremony of the Powada training classes organized by the Shahir Hinge Lokkala Prabodhini on the occasion of the 28th death anniversary of Late Kisanrao Hinge. The event was held at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Hall. Also present on the dais were Hemantaraje Mavale and Prof. Sangeeta Mavale. During the program, a special felicitation was accorded to Parag Thakur, a longtime associate of Kisanrao Hinge. The annual issue of “Shahiri Ninad” was also released to commemorate the bicentenary birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The occasion also featured a Shahiri performance titled “Naman Tuj Shahira” by Shahir Santosh Salunkhe and his team from Latur. Speaking on the occasion, Hemantaraje Mavale said that efforts are being made to pass this traditional art form on to future generations. However, he expressed concern that although the Prabodhini issues recommendation letters every year to help Class 10 students receive the 10 marks allotted for arts education, many schools fail to process them on time. As a result, students face difficulties at the board level and suffer academic losses despite undergoing training at the Prabodhini. He urged government representatives to address this issue. The event was compered by Akshada Inamdar. Honaraj Mavale delivered the introductory remarks, while Preeti Yadav-Khose proposed the vote of thanks.
