Pune: The premises of Shri Mahalaxmi Temple near Sarasbaug echoed with the chants of “Shri Mahalaxmi Mata Ki Jai… Mata Mata Ki Jai” during the Brahmotsav celebrations. A grand procession was held with the palanquin carrying the festive idols of Shri Mahalaxmi, Shri Mahasaraswati, and Shri Mahakali Devis through the temple courtyard. After the procession, the temple hosted an extraordinary event called “Phoolachi Holi” (Flower Festival), where flowers were offered with much enthusiasm.

The Brahmotsav, organized on the 41st anniversary of Shri Mahalaxmi Temple by the Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Religious and Cultural Trust, saw a variety of events taking place at the temple. Among the distinguished attendees were the Trust’s chief founder Rajkumar Agarwal, key trustees Amita Agarwal, Adv. Pratap Pardeshi, Pravin Chorbele, Hemant Arnalkar, Bharat Agarwal, Narayan Kabra, Tripti Agarwal, Ramesh Patodia, Nilesh Laddad, Murli Chowdhury, and Rajesh Sankla.

The procession was held under the guidance of the renowned spiritual leader, Anant Shri Vibhushit Jagatguru Ramanucharya, Peethadhipati of Jhalariya Peeth from Didwana, Rajasthan, and revered Shri 1008 Swamiji Ghanshyamacharyaji Maharaj. In addition to the religious festivities, social and cultural events were organized at the temple. Gold and silver flowers were offered to the deity, and prayers were held for prosperity, peace, and happiness.

As part of the celebrations, a special ritual called “Dhanatula” was performed, where different types of grains, biscuits, and snacks were distributed to the tribal regions of Kirwali and Sawargaon in Mulshe Taluka. Furthermore, over 300 deserving students in Pune were given educational scholarships to support their studies.
