Teaser of Rohan Mapuskar’s film ‘April May 99’ released

The teaser of the film April May 99, directed by Rohan Mapuskar, was released a few days ago. After watching the teaser, audiences were eagerly waiting to find out which actors will be featured in the film. Now, the faces of three of the film’s actors have been revealed – Krishna, Prasad, and Siddhesh. However, there is one more prominent character whose identity remains a mystery, adding to the excitement. The film stars Aryan Mengji as Krishna, Shreyas Thorat as Prasad, and Manthan Kanekar as Siddhesh.

Aryan Mengji, Shreyas Thorat, and Manthan Kanekar have previously worked in various films and television series. Aryan Mengji has acted in several Marathi and Hindi films, including Monica O My Darling, Barot House, Dybbuk, Baba, 15 August, and Balbharati. He even won the Maharashtra State Marathi Film Award for Best Child Actor for his performance in Balbharati. Shreyas Thorat played the character Moru in the Colors Marathi TV show Sukhi Manasacha Sadra, earning a special place in the hearts of the audience. Meanwhile, Manthan Kanekar has gained recognition for his performances in popular television serials such as Jai Jai Swami Samarth, Yogyogeshwar Jai Shankar, and Gatha Navnathanchi. Now, Krishna, Prasad, and Siddhesh are all set to make a mark this summer vacation.

Director Rohan Mapuskar shared his experience, saying, “Casting the right actors for April May 99 was quite a challenge for us. After auditioning many young actors, we finally selected Aryan, Shreyas, and Manthan. I had previously cast Aryan in Madhuri Dixit’s film 15 August, and I had also selected Shreyas for Rohit Shetty’s production School College Ani Life. Even though I was familiar with them, our team still conducted auditions to ensure they fit their roles perfectly. For Siddhesh’s role, we considered many options, but we chose Manthan to match the casting of his on-screen father. All three of them are ideal for their respective roles. This is the first lead role in a film for both Shreyas and Manthan. Their performances have brought more depth and excitement to the film, and I am confident that audiences will love their acting.”

Producer Rajesh Mapuskar added, “Rohan Mapuskar is a well-known casting director in the industry, so I was also curious about the actors he would select for this film. Since April May 99 is a story about friendship and youthful memories, choosing the right cast was crucial. Once the actors were selected, they underwent a three-month-long workshop to prepare for their roles. Soon, audiences will witness their chemistry on screen. This is a family-friendly film meant to be enjoyed together.”

Produced by Mapuskar Brothers in association with Finger Print Films, Nexus Alliance, Think Tank, and Maggie’s Pictures, April May 99 is written and directed by Rohan Mapuskar. The producers include Rajesh Mapuskar, Madhukar Kotiyan, Jogesh Bhutani, and Maurice Noon, with Lawrence D’Souza as the co-producer. The film is set to release on May 16, during the summer holidays.
