Pune: The divine chant “Bala jo jo re… Kulabhushana Dasharatha Nandana…” echoed through the historic Tulshibaug Shri Ram Temple, as the grand Shri Ram Janmotsav (birth celebration of Lord Ram) was celebrated on Sunday at 12:40 PM. This year marks the uninterrupted 264th year of the Shri Ram Navami celebration. On this occasion, the temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and illuminated with vibrant lighting.

The Shri Ram Janmotsav was organized at the Tulshibaug Shri Ram Temple by the Shri Ramji Sansthan Tulshibaug. Present at the event were Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol, Minister of State Madhuri Misal, MLA Hemant Rasane, along with executive trustee Bharat Tulshibagwale and trustees Dr. Ramchandra Tulshibagwale, Koteshwar Tulshibagwale, Ramdas Tulshibagwale, Shripad Tulshibagwale, and Raghavendra Tulshibagwale, as well as other members of the Tulshibagwale family. The beautiful temple was originally established in 1761 by Shrimant Naro Appaji Tulshibagwale, the Subedar of Pune province.

Following the main ritual, at 10:30 AM, Haribhakta Parayan Darshanbuwa Vaze delivered a devotional discourse (kirtan) on the birth of Shri Ram. At 11 AM, a procession featuring Lord Ram’s ceremonial attire was taken out. After the main birth ceremony, a large number of devotees gathered to receive the traditional pagota prasad (offering). In the evening, at 7:30 PM, a grand procession of Shri Ram’s image was carried out, and devotees warmly welcomed it at various locations.

Shri Ram Rajyabhishek Ceremony on Tuesday (April 8):
On Tuesday, April 8, at 7 AM, Darshanbuwa Vaze will deliver a kirtan on Lalit and Paighadi (ceremonial coronation themes), followed by the Shri Ram Rajyabhishek (Coronation) ceremony, performed by the entire Tulshibagwale family.

On Saturday, April 12, for Hanuman Jayanti, a Rudrabhishek (Vedic ritual) will be performed for Shri Hanuman at 6 AM, followed by Darshanbuwa Vaze’s kirtan on Hanuman’s birth at 6:30 AM.

The conclusion of the Ram Janmotsav festival will take place on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 PM, with a Shri Satyanarayan Maha Pooja.

Bharat Tulshibagwale has invited all Punekars to participate in large numbers and be a part of this grand celebration.
