Sankruti Balgude honored by the All India Marathi Film Corporation

Pune: The film “Courage” has undoubtedly taken the next step in connecting Marathi filmmakers with the global film industry, which will inspire Marathi cinema, said actress Sankruti Balgude.

Sankruti Balgude, who plays the central role in the film “Courage,” was honored by the All India Marathi Film Corporation. During the event, she spoke in an interview conducted by writer and critic Raj Kazhi. Meghraj Rajebhosale, President of the All India Marathi Film Corporation, was also present on stage.

A special screening of “Courage” was recently held at Warner Bros Studios, one of the leading studios in the world, in Los Angeles. Although the film is in English, since the producers, writer, director, and artists are all Marathi, this event was organized as a symbolic honor by the Corporation.

This film gave the important realization that everyone faces pain, but how we deal with it matters, said Balgude. She appealed that a great piece of art like “Courage,” based on true events and carrying a unique social message, should reach as many people as possible.

She further stated that the world is praising the Marathi film made in English. The film is currently being showcased at various international film festivals, receiving enthusiastic responses. While it addresses a social issue, it also carries a heartwarming love story. The struggle of Rajrani Sharma, who donated a kidney to her husband, is beautifully depicted in the film, Balgude mentioned.

Meghraj Rajebhosale remarked, “The All India Marathi Film Corporation continuously promotes new ideas and stands by filmmakers who aim to bring something new. We are proud that through ‘Courage,’ Marathi filmmakers, directors, artists, and technicians have created a film of international standards. Sankruti Balgude, who is from Pune and associated with the Corporation, has been honored today to encourage and appreciate her.”
