Pune – In recognition of his impactful work on issues concerning minorities across the country, especially the Muslim community, Rahul Dambale, President of the National Conference for Minority, was honored with the Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Samaj Bhushan Award by the Pune City District Muslim Community.

The award was presented by former Standing Committee Chairman Rashid Shaikh and former Corporator Ayub Shaikh. The event was graced by several dignitaries including Republican Party leader Parshuram Wadekar, former Deputy Mayor Dr. Siddharth Dhende, former corporators Ghafoor Patan, Rais Abid Shaikh, Sundke, NCP City Working President Haji Firoz Shaikh, former corporator Himali Kamble, Avinash Salve, Balasaheb Janrao, Bapusaheb Bhosale, senior entrepreneur Nazeer Tamboli, Adv. Ayub Shaikh, former corporator Anis Sundke, Shailendra Chavan, Mahendra Kamble, Republican Yuva Morcha’s Suvarna Dambale, Dalit Panther’s Yashwant Nadgam, Maulana Hashmi, Siddique Shaikh, Shahabuddin Shaikh, Adv. Bhai Vivek Chavan, Milind Ahire, Atul Salve, DICCI President Milind Kamble, Saleem Patel, Asif Khan, and Sikandar Mulani, among others.

The program was organized by Javed Bhai Shaikh, Saleem Patel, Asif Shaikh, Mujammil Shaikh, and Minaj Memon and took place at the Aahar Banquet Hall on Dhole Patil Road.

Rashid Shaikh emphasized that activists like Rahul Dambale are key to preserving secularism in India and maintaining Hindu-Muslim harmony. Ayub Shaikh highlighted Dambale’s strong efforts across the nation in presenting and resolving the issues of Muslims and minorities before the administration without giving in to religious polarization.

Dr. Siddharth Dhende appreciated Dambale’s significant contribution toward maintaining communal harmony in the city. Parshuram Wadekar stated that Rahul Dambale, influenced by Ambedkarite ideology, has persistently advocated for the constitutional rights and provisions for minorities and secularism. He added that the award bestowed upon him by the Muslim community is a strong acknowledgment of his dedicated work.

In his speech, Rahul Dambale stressed that above all castes, religions, languages, and sects, it is the Indian culture and the Constitution that bind the nation. He urged everyone to support one another in building a nation based on constitutional values.
