Beginning of BJP’s victory in Pune Municipal Corporation – Minister Chandrakant Patil

Pune: In the Pune Municipal Corporation elections, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) has suffered a major setback in Wards No. 9 and 11. Rebel candidates along with official candidates of the Shiv Sena (UBT), accompanied by hundreds of workers, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and publicly extended their support to the BJP’s official candidates. Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil, welcomed them, congratulated them, and wished them success in their future political journey.

In the PMC elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has received a significant blow in Ward No. 9 and Ward No. 11 of the Kothrud Assembly constituency. From Ward No. 9 (D) and (C), rebel candidates of the Shiv Sena (UBT) Mahesh Sutar (D) and Pooja Sutar (C), Planning Committee member Sukhdev Tapkir, and from Ward No. 11 (A), official candidate Balasaheb Dhanwade, Yuva Sena leader Amar Gaikwad, and former corporator Pahlwan Dilipdada Gaikwad, along with their supporters, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and announced their public support for BJP candidates.

The party induction ceremony took place at the Kothrud residence of Minister Chandrakant Patil. He formally welcomed all the entrants into the BJP, congratulated them, and extended his best wishes for their future political endeavors.
Expressing confidence on the occasion, Minister Chandrakant Patil said, “These inductions are extremely encouraging for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier, two of our candidates were elected unopposed. Now, with candidates from Wards 9 and 11 joining the BJP, the party’s strength has further increased. This marks the beginning of BJP’s victory in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections.”

Present at the event were BJP candidates from Ward No. 9—Lahu Balwadkar, Ganesh Kalamkar, Rohini Chimte—and from Ward No. 11—Ajay Marne and Abhijit Raut. BJP leaders Dr. Sandeep Butala, Prakash Tatya Balwadkar, Pralhad Saykar, Rahul Kokate, Shivam Balwadkar, along with other BJP office bearers, were also in attendance.
