Pune : “The Ultimate Move-a-Thon’, a three-way event combining walking, running and cycling is organised by the Rotary Club of Poona. This unique event will be on Sunday, February 9th, 2025 starting at 4:30 am from BMCC College, Shivajinagar.

Addressing the press conference, Mr. Jaideep Parekh, Chairman of ‘The Ultimate Move-a-Thon’, Major General Amar Krishna, President of Rotary Club of Poona, Mr. Mukul Kumar, Co-Founder and President of Pubmatic India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Manish Shukla, Regional Head of Aditya Birla Mutual Fund said that, The Rotary club of Poona is for the very first time organizing The Ultimate Move-A-Thon featuring a variety of activities including a Cyclothon, Marathon, and Walkathon to raise funds for the benefit of the under privileged sections of society: to provide an exhilarating fitness event designed to bring people together in the spirit of unity, health, movement; and to promote a healthy lifestyle, foster community spirit, and above all support a meaningful cause. The event provides an excellent opportunity to be part of social responsibility and community support. Please join us and you will be helping the under-privileged section of the society.

Mr. Jaideep Parekh said that the Rotary Club of Poona does lot community service for the economically backward and needy children of rural and urban areas. While providing such help, we give more priority to the Heart surgeries for children which is a very expensive treatment. We also provide various medical equipment required by hospitals for treating children in Paediatric ICU and wards. The club has also been providing artificial limbs to the amputees. We also work for the educational development of children by providing various educational materials as per the needs of rural schools along with the toilet blocks especially for Girls School.

Along with three activities – Cyclothon, Marathon and Walkathon – various fun and fitness programs will also be held in this event. We are trying to fulfil the dual objective of creating awareness among the citizens about the importance of exercise and healthy lifestyle and also helping maximum children from socio-economically backward sections of the society through “The Ultimate Move-a-Thon’

The cyclothon and marathon of the competition will be held in two categories, 10 km and 21 km, while the walkathon will be held in 3 km and 5 km. All the participants will be given a T-shirt, certificate, medals and food packets.
