Recognized by World Record India and Wonder Book of Records International

Pune: To bring Marathi Lavani music onto the global stage and give it the recognition it deserves, actress and singer Pushpa Chaudhary has created a world record by performing 51 consecutive traditional Marathi Lavani songs. She sang continuously for 4 hours and 45 minutes, achieving a remarkable milestone in Lavani music.

The event was held at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud, where representatives from World Record India, Dinesh Paithankar, and Wonder Book of Records International, Neeta Donde Tipnis, officially recognized the record and honored Pushpa Chaudhary with a certificate and medal.

The event was attended by judges Siddheshwar Zhadbuke, Aniruddha Halande, and Santosh Raut, along with several prominent personalities such as Leela Gandhi, Surekha Punekar, Maya Khutegaonkar, Shweta Shinde, Jaymala Inamdar, Prajakta Gaikwad, Shubhada Naik, Dr. Shashi Doiphode, Ankush Mandekar, Pradeep Kothmire, Trupti Desai, Shashikala Mengde, Vrushali Chaudhary, Sayali Wanjale, Deepali Dhumal, and many others. Representatives from Valentina Company, including Abasaheb Chorghe, Santosh Bandal, Sandeep Pawar, Sushma Chorghe, Jayshree Badal, Ashwini Pawar, Sneha Bhagat, Ravindra Wadkar, Pramod Gaikwad, Sushma Sorte, Shashikant Patil, were also present.

Pushpa Chaudhary began her performance at 9:50 AM and completed her 51st Lavani song at 2:46 PM.

A Tribute to the Rich Tradition of Lavani

Speaking about her achievement, Pushpa Chaudhary said, “I attempted this world record to bring the rich tradition of Lavani to the global stage. In today’s DJ era, traditional Lavani songs are being forgotten. It is through artists that this art form will continue to thrive. That is why I decided to set this record, and I successfully achieved it.”

Her Swamini Academy singers provided choral support, while renowned musician Harshad Ganbote, who played the Dholki for Surekha Punekar for 15 years, along with his team, delivered an exceptional instrumental performance. Additionally, Kumbhar Sir, known for accompanying Usha Mangeshkar’s songs, played a beautiful guitar melody for the event.
