Spread the love A series of diverse events to mark the Silver Jubilee Year Pune: Shri Shri Shyama Kali Puja, Pune City, has organized the Public Kali Puja Utsav 2025 on October 20, 21, and 22, 2025, at R.C.M. Gujarati School, Phadke Haud Chowk, Pune. This year marks the 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of this prestigious festival. On this occasion, a variety of religious, social, and cultural programs have been planned, informed the organization’s Secretary, Subrato Majumdar, during a press conference. The press conference held at the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh was attended by Vinod Santra (Treasurer), Amar Maji (Joint Secretary), Anup Maity (Member), Mahadev Maji (Member), Poonchandra Das (Member), Sanket Majumdar, and other committee members. Speaking about the upcoming ‘Shri Shri Shyama Kali Puja Utsav 2025,’ Subrato Majumdar said, “This festival, dedicated to Goddess Kali — the divine embodiment of feminine power — is celebrated with great devotion and emotion by devotees. As we celebrate the Silver Jubilee this year, the festival will be conducted on an even grander scale.” The main Puja will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 9:40 p.m. until midnight, as a Maha Puja. The following day, Tuesday, October 21, will feature community-oriented programs, including a blood donation camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., prasadam distribution from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and cultural performances from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The festival will conclude on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with a grand procession from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. A special attraction will be the traditional Dhak drummers from West Bengal, accompanied by dhol-tasha troupes. Men and women dressed in traditional Bengali attire will participate in large numbers, adding color and energy to the closing procession. All events will take place at R.C.M. Gujarati School, Phadke Haud Chowk, Pune, Majumdar added. The festival was originally initiated by skilled goldsmiths from Kolkata who had migrated to Pune. Over the past 25 years, this celebration has brought together the Bengali community of Pune along with people from various faiths and cultural backgrounds, symbolizing social harmony, devotion, and the spirit of service. On the occasion of this Silver Jubilee year, the organizing committee has invited Punekars to attend in large numbers and enhance the grandeur of this spiritual and cultural celebration.
