At the start of the meeting, Commissioner Navalkishor Ram presented updates on the ongoing development projects in the city, including roads, water supply, and other key departments. Minister Chandrakant Patil emphasized that,“The ongoing development projects in the city must be completed expeditiously. Special priority should be given to filling potholes on Pune’s roads that have deteriorated during the monsoon. Reports of pothole repairs in each assembly constituency should be regularly shared with respective MLAs. Pune will soon host an international cycling competition, for which high-quality roads are essential. Hence, the Municipal Corporation must present a comprehensive road development plan.” Minister of State Madhuri Misal added that:“Proper maintenance and financial planning should be carried out for the 1,000 new buses being added to the PMPML fleet. The financial losses of PMPML are currently borne by both municipal corporations, but the organization should now work toward becoming financially self-sustaining. Arrangements should be made for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for employees, pay revisions, and pension payments for retirees. In addition, detailed project reports should be prepared for the undergrounding of power cables and relocation of streetlight poles from roadways.” MLAs shared the following opinions during the meeting:MLA Bhimrao Tapkir:“Eleven villages have been merged into the Pune Municipal Corporation. Many of these villages are still using old water schemes, and in some areas, the water is not properly treated, leading to infectious diseases. Immediate measures should be taken to resolve this issue.A meeting of all relevant departments should be convened under the Divisional Commissioner to prevent frequent accidents near the Navale Bridge.” MLA Yogesh Tilekar:“How will the citizens of Pune benefit from the Uniform Water Supply Scheme? Currently, in several parts of Hadapsar, water is supplied only once a week. Arrangements should be made to ensure daily water supply in the near future.” MLA Hemant Rasane:“Encroachments are increasing on a large scale in the city, causing severe traffic congestion. When complaints are made to encroachment officers, they often warn the encroachers instead of taking action. While no one’s livelihood should be disrupted, strict action must be taken against encroachments, and a clear policy for street vendors should be established.” MLA Bapusaheb Pathare:“In areas where municipal development work is underway, the concerned agencies should appoint wardens in adjacent areas to prevent traffic jams. The Municipal Corporation provides a large amount of water to malls, but officials should also visit slum areas to ensure that residents there receive adequate water supply.” MLA Sunil Kamble:“The process of merging the Pune Cantonment Board into the Pune Municipal Corporation should be initiated immediately. Sewage treatment projects should be expedited. Also, officers who have been working in the same department for many years should be transferred periodically as per regulations.” Post Views: 13 Post navigation Kinetic Watts & Volts Inaugurates India’s First Showroom in Pune, Maharashtra Ritvaa launches SmartGold Mangalsutra — traditions made modern
