Pune: On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal have organized a grand Music Festival from March 30 to April 3, starting on Gudi Padwa. This year, not only renowned artists from Maharashtra but also from across India will showcase their talent, offering Puneites a golden opportunity to witness exceptional musical performances. The festival will be held at Nu. Ma. Vi. School Ground on Bajirao Road, daily from 7 PM to 10 PM, as announced by Trust President Sunil Rasane in a press conference.

The press conference was attended by Vice President Dr. Ramchandra alias Balasaheb Paranjape, Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi, General Secretary and MLA Hemant Rasane, Joint Secretary Amol Kedari, Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal President Prakash Chavan, and other dignitaries and members, including Saurabh Raikar, Yatish Rasane, Tushar Raikar, and Mangesh Suryavanshi.

Grand Inauguration & Festival Highlights
General Secretary and MLA Hemant Rasane stated that on Gudi Padwa (March 30) at 9 AM, a traditional Gudi Poojan will take place at the temple, performed by Police Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh Gill. The Music Festival will be inaugurated at 6:30 PM by Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal, with Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar as the chief guest.

Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi added that this year’s festival is an eclectic mix of instrumental music, classical and semi-classical performances, natyageet (theatrical songs), devotional songs, folk music, bhavageet (emotional poetry-based songs), and film songs. The festival will feature performances such as “Babuji Ani Mi” and “BhavSargam”—both widely acclaimed programs.

March 30: The festival begins at 7 PM with a mesmerizing performance by renowned drummer Shivamani, accompanied by Pandit Ravi Chari, Runa Rizvi, and other artists in “Pushpanjali”.

March 31: A grand showcase of classical and semi-classical music, natyageet, and devotional songs by Pandit Shaunak Abhisheki, Pandit Raghunandan Panshikar, and Manjusha Patil.

April 1: A folk music extravaganza titled “Thaat Hyo Juna, Khel Ha Nava…” by Harsh, Vijay, Ishwar Andhare, and team.

April 2: A special musical tribute “Babuji Ani Mi” by renowned singer and composer Shridhar Phadke, celebrating the legendary Sudhir Phadke.

April 3 (Grand Finale): The festival concludes with “BhavSargam”, featuring the legendary Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Notably, actor Ravindra Khare will conduct an exclusive interview with Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

Logistics & Entry To ensure a smooth experience, parking has been arranged at Nu. Ma. Vi. Primary School, opposite Prabhat Theatre in Appa Balwant Chowk. Entry to the festival is free for all music lovers, and the trust has urged Puneites to attend in large numbers.

Special Event: Shri Vallabhesh Mangalam (March 31)

On Monday, March 31, at 10:54 AM, the temple will host “Shri Vallabhesh Mangalam”, commemorating the divine wedding of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Vallabha. According to Mudgal Purana, this occasion marks the grand union of the formless, infinite Parabrahma (Nirguna-Nirakara Lord Ganesh) and the manifested, cosmic Parabrahma (Saguna-Sakara Lord Ganesha). On this day, the temple will be adorned with a spectacular floral decoration to celebrate the celestial event.
