Pune: The month-long religious, cultural, and social programs organized by the Shri Mahalaxmi Temple on the occasion of Adhik Maas concluded recently with a Yajna (sacred fire ritual) and Purnahuti (final offering ceremony). Prayers were also offered for timely rainfall amid drought-like conditions in several regions and for peace and harmony across the world.


The activities throughout the month were coordinated by the temple trust under the leadership of Chief Founder Trustee Rajkumar Agrawal, Chief Trustee Amita Agrawal, and Dr. Trupti Agrawal. Trustees Adv. Pratap Pardeshi, Praveen Chorbele, Hemant Arnalakar, Narayan Kabra, Ramesh Patodia, Murlidhar Chaudhary, along with office-bearers and temple volunteers, were present on the occasion.


The celebrations had commenced last month with Kamal Pushpa Archana (Lotus Flower Worship) and Vishnu Yajna. The program featured a variety of spiritual activities, including a discourse by Dr. Bhavarth Dekhane, a presentation of the Sundarkand by Meenu Potdar, and a kirtan by renowned national kirtankar Dr. Charudatta Aafale. Other religious ceremonies included Shri Sukta Havan, Suvarna Kamal and Rajat Kamal Archana, Sahasra Bel Patra Archana, Tulsi Archana, Pushpa Archana, and Deep Utsav.


In addition, devotees participated in a bhajan program by Santoshi Mundada and group, a Garba performance by Priya Disa and group, collective recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama and Aarti organized by Gita Parivar, group chanting of “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namah,” collective recitation of Shri Sukta, and the concluding Homa Purnahuti ceremony.


Several social initiatives were also conducted as part of the celebrations, including a Book Weighing Ceremony (Pustak Tula), Go Mata Annakot (food offering for cows), Jhula Utsav (swing festival), and Grain Donation through Dhaan Tula, reflecting the temple’s commitment to both spiritual and social service.
